Financial education is more than dollars and cents. It’s about establishing better spending habits, instilling confidence, and equipping the community with the real-world skills to manage their finances and financial goals. 

While there is no commonly agreed upon definition of financial literacy, there is one common theme among all of them: Poor financial health is due to a lack of education. It’s considered a knowledge problem. Proper education is important, but financial literacy programs focus on the facts and figures and ignore our feelings (our emotions), which ultimately drive our behaviors. It’s a mindset problem and not only a money and math problem.

The Money, Mindset, Makeover Financial Literacy Program was created to address these critical community issues.  We wanted to create a program that would remove every barrier that might prevent someone from receiving the basic information/education necessary for financial success. That’s how and why the Money, Mindset, Makeover financial literacy program was born.

*Must have attended at least 3 out of  the 4 prior weeks

** Must complete 4 of the 5 sessions for eligibility

 Participants must be at least 18 years old to receive incentives.  Although classes/cohorts may be repeated (based on seating availability, with new students having priority), incentives can only be received once.
